Privacy Notice for the Expression of Interest Form

This Privacy Notice explains how the personal data collected through the Expression of Interest Form for the Multi-dimensional Knowledge Graphs (MKG) Barstuhl Workshop at ISWC 2026 is processed.

What information we collect

Depending on your submission, we may collect:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Affiliation or organization
  • Professional position
  • Workshop participation preferences
  • Preferred breakout working groups
  • Lightning talk proposal (title, abstract, keywords)
  • Optional comments or additional information
  • Your consent regarding future communications and networking

Purpose of processing

Your personal data is processed exclusively to:

  • manage expressions of interest for the MKG Workshop;
  • organize breakout groups and workshop activities;
  • evaluate lightning talk proposals;
  • communicate workshop-related information;
  • contact selected lightning talk presenters;
  • coordinate the post-workshop white paper, if applicable;
  • facilitate networking among participants only where explicit consent has been provided.

Your personal data will never be used for marketing purposes or shared with third parties unrelated to the workshop.

Legal basis

The processing of your personal data is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting the organizers.

Data storage and retention

Responses are securely stored using Google Forms and Google Sheets, which act as data processors on behalf of the organizers.

Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to organize the workshop and any directly related follow-up activities (such as the workshop white paper), and in any case no longer than 24 months after the workshop, unless a longer retention period is required by law or further consent is obtained.

Data sharing

Your personal data will be accessible only to the workshop organizers.

If you explicitly consent to networking, your name, affiliation, and email address may be shared with other workshop participants after the event.

No other personal data will be disclosed without your consent.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access your personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request deletion of your data;
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • withdraw your consent at any time;
  • request a copy of your personal data;
  • lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

This Privacy Notice may be updated to reflect organizational or legal changes. The latest version will always be available on this website.
